Exercise: Reflect on your feedback

The feedback from the tutorial was encouraging and positive, especially regarding the sensitivity of the work and the confidence I am beginning to develop in my creative direction. I feel that my tutor understands the emotional and autobiographical nature of my project and recognises that my ideas are becoming clearer and more focused. This gave me confidence to continue exploring themes of memory, movement, identity and personal experience through interdisciplinary work.

One of the most important points from the feedback was the need to evidence the development of the project more clearly through the learning blog. I understand that it is important not only to present finished outcomes, but also to document the process of thinking, experimenting and reflecting while the work evolves. This will help demonstrate how ideas grow and connect over time.

Another important point was the encouragement to research existing creative practices and artists in relation to film, image, text and sound. I understand that this is necessary in order to position my work within a wider creative context and to expand my understanding of contemporary visual storytelling. This is something I want to develop further through future research and experimentation.

For the next exercise, I plan to upload photographs taken in different places that have influenced me emotionally and creatively, including China, the Isle of Man, England, Greece and Scotland. Many of these images were taken spontaneously during everyday moments and journeys, but I now realise they hold emotional and narrative value. I want to use these photographs as visual triggers for ideas, memories and reflections, allowing connections to emerge naturally between the imagery and the thoughts they inspire.

Through this process, I hope to create a narrative atmosphere that combines image, memory and text in a poetic and reflective way. At the moment, I am still exploring which software or platform will best support the creation of this visual story, but I see this experimentation itself as part of the creative process and development of the work.

Overall, the feedback helped me feel more focused and reassured that my project has a strong emotional and conceptual foundation. My next step is to continue building confidence through experimentation, documentation and reflection while gradually shaping the visual and narrative language of the project.
