Extended Artist Statement
My practice explores migration, memory, identity and belonging through photography, moving image, poetry and sound. Rather than documenting places or events, I am interested in the emotional traces they leave behind and how memories continue to exist long after we have moved on.
Having lived and worked in different countries, my work reflects the experience of existing between cultures, languages and identities. I see migration not simply as geographical movement but as an ongoing negotiation between past and present, presence and absence, familiarity and change.
My practice is interdisciplinary, combining photography, visual poetry, moving image and sound to create layered narratives that invite contemplation rather than explanation. I am interested in ambiguity and metaphor, encouraging viewers to bring their own memories and experiences into the work rather than directing them towards a single interpretation.
Influenced by mythology, literature and personal experience, I see my work as an exploration of how identity is continually shaped through movement, memory and human connection. Rather than providing answers, I hope my work creates spaces where different histories, emotions and voices can coexist.
