Documenting journeys
“The only true voyage of discovery… …would be not to visit strange lands, but to
possess other eyes, to behold the universe through the eyes of another.”
Marcel Proust
Every one of us is journeying through time and journeys are often the start of stories: of an
observer, the outsider, seeing the familiar from a different perspective. As discoveries of the
strange yet familiar, journeys lend themselves to illustrating sequences, narrative, and the
production of series of images. This is often the basis of documentary photography;
photographs ‘about something’, rather than photographs ‘of something’.

Photo road trip of Greece
Instead of finding photography documenting a journey, I have decided to show a journey through time and space of a small part of my beautiful country: Greece.
The pictures can give an idea of the breathtaking landscape and could be photos of a tourist guide, a travel agency, or of someone who just driven along the picturesque sites and experienced the magic of the glorious Greek summer. They were all taken in the island of Peloponnese( south part of the country) and as they go along they lure you in to be part of this wonderful experience:

I have tried to give a glimpse of how a road trip in a part of mainland of Greece would be. I have put myself in the position of a curious tourist who would want to discover not only the country but also its people, some of the products is famous for but also the scenery besides the white and blue houses; this is only a very small part of the country but can give a better view of how time and space can be observed in that wonderful time of the world.
