REFLECTION-SKILLS SHARING
Assignment seven is finished. It has been an incredible journey so far, and my study has helped me learn a lot about myself and how I perceive things.
First, my OCA course has been a great companion and a guiding light. To be more specific, my blog inputs have guided me and railed my thoughts. The fact that I had to complete tasks but still have the freedom of choice of subject was a catalyst. I had the chance to live through my creative process and get more inspiration from my work as I advanced: my Odyssey in my life was a challenging subject to create more. However, I did not make pieces of work to fulfil the brief’s requirements.
My creative work was original. My poems, stories from China, and photos were distilled from experiences, relentless research, and emotional suffering. Therefore, they have become pieces of my heart.
Second, I discovered a love for photography as a medium of expression and storytelling. More precisely, I wanted to share my ongoing adventure and the aura I have received from this chapter of my life. Photography has helped me visualise my journey and how I see the environment around me.
In addition to that discovery, my love for writing stories has found a companion to my photography taste. The result was an original story inspired by the Mid Autumn Festival and visualised by photos from my neighbourhood in Dongguan. This late discovery has given me a new perspective and a sense that I can show and tell more.
The most exciting part of all is that because of this mutual feed of experiences, emotions, knowledge, and icons, is the fact that I cannot predict what is coming, what is going to happen or what sort of outcome the following assignments will bring. My Odyssey is still on, and the journey brings me joy and emotional relief as I drain myself of all the energy or pain I experience in a creative mode.
My recent sung hero, Odysseus, is sailing to the unknown. His heart is eager to encounter new adventures. OCA is the boat that is carrying him to his new destinations. He doesn’t know what he is going to experience. But his spirit is raised high enough to be thrilled by what he is about to encounter.
